Anke joined Canine Behavioural School as an Aspiring Instructor (CBS AI Program) in April 2021 and started instructing her own classes in April 2022. She volunteers with the RSPCA Dog Training Team as well as assisting in and instructing classes for Sleuth Houndz, and enjoys all aspects of relationship & trust building, as well as building and protecting the confidence of both the dog and the handler.
Her passion for dogs started in Mid 2020 when she joined the puppy raising program of Guide Dogs SA. However, her last puppy, a beautiful yellow Labrador named Clover, decided to quit the workforce at an early age and is enjoying life as her and her husband’s pet.
Anke is passionate about the welfare and health of our canine companions. She is always eager to learn more, especially how we can enrich our dog’s life and how we can create a safe environment for them where they can express their innate behaviours and personalities to prevent behavioural issues.
She currently studies Canine Nutrition, has started her journey to become a certified K9 Nose Works® instructor through NACSW, has been granted a scholarship for Karolina Westlund’s (ILLIS ABC) Advanced Animal Training course and is also looking forward to starting her journey to become a Canine Conditioning Coach (K9 Fitness Coach).
